1. Form Factor – Understanding the difference between “Standard” (two eyelets) and “TRUNNION” (side bolts) mounts.

3. Hardware – Deciphering “mounting hardware” (bushings, spacers) dimensions and the difference between Fox, SRAM, and unique frame-specific hardware.
4. Shock Tune – Decoding the “Rebound/Compression tune codes” (LCL, LRM, CMF) and volume spacers (tokens) to match your frame’s *kinematics and get a perfect ride.

Great video. I recently upgraded my rear shock. Didn’t realize I had to get bushings for the eyelets. Santa Cruz sent me a link to the correct one at Jenson, and it was same for both eyelets. I also never thought about shock tune until your video. No idea what’s in store for me now.
step by step?
Can you use a shock with a longer travel? My bike is a Medium Lapierre Zesty AM fit 4.0. The current shock is a trunnion with 205mm eye to eye and 57.5mm stroke. Can I use a shock with the same eye to eye but 60mm stroke?
Can the sizes 210×55 and 200×65 mm be considered the same?
@LoveMTB – what was your primary motivation for changing your shock? 🤔I understand that this is more of a ‘how to’ video, but I’m curious why you were entertaining the change. What specific outcomes were you hoping to achieve? Thx!
