I changed out the water pump, thermostat, and just now the radiator. Still overheating while driving around for ~30 minutes. Maybe because I didn’t warm it up enough to allow the thermostat to open and then top off? I allowed car to cool off and then topped off radiator with coolant after. Drove home last night with the A.C on (17 miles) and no overheating. Maybe that issue was not topping it of? I’m scared its a blown head gasket. However, no sludge in the oil or oil cap. The overflow from the overheating is splashed out from the reservoir. Any thoughts on this? Thank you 🙏
Well this may help anyone with the ram 5.7 i chamged my water pump and thermostat i drove starting to over heat put more antifreeze in and kept squeezing the hoses to get the air to the top my heat kicked on and my gage dropped back down problem salved squeezing hoses works for getting trapes air
Changed my alternate water pump…water pump… thermostat seen no leaks only overheating on left side I have a 4.7 I’ve bleed system twice is that enough and it does need to be above level to make it work better or doesn’t change much should I jack it up and bleed

Does the engine need to be running while adding coolant
